Writer Nick Castle (Nathan Fillion) couldn't write a better character himself -- he's Mick Jagger meets James Bond, and has the fame and fans to match. However, Nick has grown weary of it all, leading him to kill off the legendary character who has been the basis of the millions of books he has old. When a copycat murderer begins to kill people in manners and scenes straight out of his novels, NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) goes to Nick for help. But their personalities don't mesh -- Nick's fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants detective style greatly clashes with Beckett's more conservative and methodical approach to the crimes, but the new life that Nick Castle has begun couldn't have been scripted better himself.

Psychic51 - I've been a fan of Nathan Fillion since he stared in the TV series Firefly.
Far as I know it's the only series that was made into a movie (Serenity) after being canceled with only 1 season.

1x01 - Flowers for Your Grave (03/09/2009)
Writer Nick Castle is called in to help the police department after two murders occur that are strikingly similar to the plot of his book.

When a body of a young woman is found inside the dryer at a laundry room, Castle and Beckett uncover that the young woman worked as a nanny in the upscale building. Meanwhile, as Castle works on his "Nikki Heat" novel series he watches Beckett's actions as she works the murder case.

A woman was found murdered inside a transient hotel in a bathtub full of motor oil as Castle and Beckett investigate. After uncovering the dark past of the woman, they decide they'll need to seek the help of a crime journalist who may know more about this woman than he is telling. Meanwhile, Beckett uses her best poker face as she squares off against Castle, with both money and pride at stake.
